Connectors

The Deutsch 2 Pin is most commonly used with the Diode Dynamics SS3 Lineup. These are typically used on single output applications where there is no High/Low or backlit function. Look for the GREEN symbol for compatibility across our range of products!

The Deutsch 4 Pin is most commonly used with the Diode Dynamics SSC2, SSC5, Backlit SS3’s, Baja Designs LP series and many other applications. This plug is commonly used when more than one function is offered in the lamp such as High/Low or Backlit. Look for the BLUE symbol for compatibility across our range of products!

Spade Connectors are often supplied as a user added item to discount light pods and bars. This connection type allows for a secure end termination but can also be disconnected should you need to remove the pods or light bar for any reason. The silicone/plastic covers over the female terminals allows for some level of water protection but this is not a watertight connection. If prolong use under wet conditions is to be expected please use electrical tape or something to create a barrier to prolong a good connection. Keep in mind these require the use of a special tool often found on wire cutters to create a secure connection. Look for the PURPLE symbol for compatibility across our range of products!

Butt Connectors are often used when a light bar or pod is expected to never be removed but needs secure connection. Due to the fact both ends are permanently connected there is no ability to disconnect a Butt Connector. Applications would include those with heavy wet conditions but also not installed in a place to inhibit maintenance or access. Keep in mind a special tool is needed to properly crimp these (often found on crimping tools with color dots). Look for the RED symbol for compatibility across our range of products!
